1) Comment On Other Blogs
The most effective (and authentic) way of getting your website circulated and linked to from other sources is to do it yourself manually. There is no method that Google looks upon more favourably than commenting on other peoples blogs. Find out which websites and blogs are influential within your industry and go onto those articles and put comments that add value to the article and link back to your site (no spam!).
2) Social Bookmarking
There numerous social bookmarking generators out there who will push your content around the world wide web for you. Get your blog circulated on Stumpleupon, Reddit etc so that authentic back links are created for minimal effort. Using the same principle, also submit your blog/news articles to directory submission sites.
3) Participate In Forums
Like blogs, forums are a great way for you to control the back links your website is generating. Search for the relevant forums and threads that involve your industry/brand and go into those discussions to add your thoughts on what is being debated. Whilst you are in the process of doing this, make sure you link back to a relevant page from your own website.
