Facebook: What To Talk About
20 Mar 2011
What should you do with a Facebook fanpage? At the top of the page, you’ll see a ‘status update’ box. This is your window to your followers: you might want to share success stories, news, links or videos. As with all social networking, the key is to keep your content interesting, lively and informative – this is not a place for you to blow your own trumpet several times a day, or you’ll find no-one listens.
Ideally, you’ll stay in your niche market. Some people post links to articles they’ve written, some draw attention to customers’ successes, some people post tips, some post news, views and thoughts. Whatever you post you need to keep your personality clear throughout. Comment on the links or videos, ask questions and try to inspire comments from your followers. The more people who follow you and make comments on your wall, the more people will see you and join the parade. By commenting on your wall, friends of your followers will see ‘you’ through your followers’ news feeds, and you’ll appear on your fans’ home pages.
